Cape Town Central City Improvement District

The Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID) was facilitated by the Cape Town Partnership in November 2000.

The purpose of the Cape Town Central City Improvement District is to supplement the municipal services that property owners receive, particularly cleansing and security. In addition to providing these services, the CCID is also involved in marketing the area and promoting and organising events.

Cape Town: Improvement in Services

Following on the experience of other cities, the concept has proved to be highly successful and has shown a marked improvement in Cape Town's CBD.

The Cape Town Central City Improvement District focuses on creating a high-quality urban management environment of which the priorities are security, cleansing and promoting of the Central City, and managing public space. Additionally the CCID has started diverting increasing resources to social development services.
