Derek Bock

Head of Operations

After having completed his schooling career, Derek joined the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).

During his tenure of 18½ years within the SANDF, Derek completed all the necessary military courses to become a senior officer. He had the privilege of studying and attending officer courses at the SA Army College, SA Intelligence College and the Royal British Military Academy of Science amongst others. He left the SANDF in August 1998 with the rank of lieutenant-colonel.

In July 2002, he took up the post of Security Manager at the newly formed Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID). In August 2003, Derek was offered the post of Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the CCID. As COO, all aspects of urban renewal were now his main responsibility, i.e. security, cleansing, marketing and social development.

In April 2007, Derek Bock joined Eurocape as Head of Operations. His responsibilities include marketing, media liaison, sales, tenant liaison, leasing and rental of commercial space.
