Liam O'Brien

Head of Construction

Liam O'Brien is a Quantity Surveyor with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Quantity Surveying from Trinity College in Dublin and a Construction and Economics Diploma from The College of Technology, Bolton Street, Dublin.

Liam started his career in construction in 1985 as a Contracts Manager with a London based construction and property development company. He worked on a wide variety of projects in both the construction and property development industries and was appointed a Director in 1989. Construction focused on the local authority and hotel sectors while in house private development was primarily in the residential market.

Liam re-located to Cape Town in 1993, joining Resnekov and Nielsen, a local construction company, and specialised in high end residential, office and retail construction, in both new build and refurbishment. Clients included major banks, retail chains and local government. Liam also holds a Masters degree in Project Management from University College Cape Town.

Liam joined Eurocape in 2004 and soon started work on Mandela Rhodes Place, its first construction project in Cape Town, completed in 2006. He brings his 22 years experience in the building industry to his role in charge of the construction arm of Eurocape's business. Liam is currently developing the Taj Palace Hotel in Cape Town with the Eurocape and Taj Hotels team as well as working on Eurocape's next projects from concept through to execution.
